Black Pepper Chicken (黑胡椒雞)
Ingredients:
500g chicken thighs
1 onion
2 cloves of garlic
20g butter
1 Tbsp sugar
2 Tbsp black pepper
4 Tbsp/60g soy sauce
75 ml water (for cooking)
Methods:
1. Roughly chop your garlics. Slice your onions and cut them into half.
2. Melt the butter in a pan over low heat. Add your garlics and onions and cook until the onions are translucent and soft.
3. Add black pepper and sugar. Stir fry for 1 minutes until fragrant.
4. Increase the heat to high and add your chicken. Let the chicken sear for 1 minutes.
5. Add soy sauce and quickly stir fry.
6. Add water and cook covered over low heat for 5 minutes.
7. Remove the lid. Increase the heat to high and cook until the sauce thickens.
