Ingredients:
Uann kue
1 TW cup (140g) basmati rice
1.5 TW cup (240g) water (soak and blend)
3 TW cup (480g) water, boiling
1 tsp salt
Lo bah (Taiwanese braised pork)
Sauce
100g water
2 Tbsp soy sauce
2/3 Tbsp sugar
2 cloves garlic
1 tsp corn starch
1 Tbsp water
Methods:
Wash and soak rice overnight. Please weigh up everything.
Blend the rice along with the soaking water until smooth.
Add salt to the water and bring it to a boil. Quickly pour the boiling water into the rice batter. Stir it until thick.
Pour the partially cooked rice batter into the oiled container, and put on the braised pork and eggs.
Steam Uann kue for 20 - 40 minutes (It depends on the size of Uann kue). Use a chopstick or skewer to test. If there is only a little residue, it is cooked.
Prepare the sauce: mix all the ingredients and bring them to a boil. Add the cornstarch water, and continue cooking it until less liquid. (The sauce will become thick when it cools down)
